Fabricated sterling silver earrings set with a pair of “Fordite” cabochons, from the Jeep Wrangler plant in Toledo Ohio. Popularly known as “fordite”, this material is industrial waste from the painting process of cars. It is layers and layers of excess paint that accumulated in the paint booths on the auto assembly line from the days of yore. The ear wires are sterling silver. Including the metalwork and ear wires, the earrings measure about 1 1/2 inches long by 1/2 inch wide.
